Music design has been one of my specialties for last several years. Recent clients include CMJ, Tuff City Records, Robbers On High Street, Unicycle Loves You, Metropolitan Talent Presents and many more.
Designed and developed this site that specializes in archiving rare vintage vinyl from around the world. Built from as a custom WordPress theme, it features a persistent audio player that utilizes Soundcloud’s API, user generated content with audio/video submission as well as editorial articles.
Provided development as well as art direction for cult NYC band, Mindless Self Indulgence. It is a responsive WordPress theme built with Bootstrap 3 that allows members to document their attended shows as well as upload photos and videos.
Custom WordPress e-commerce theme designed and developed for Highwheel Records, a Chicago based independent record label. The site also features a customized HTML5 audio player. Active label artists include Unicycle Loves You, Airiel and Walking Bicycles.
Custom WordPress theme design and development for NY based jazz band, Outer Bridge Ensemble. The site is fully responsive for both mobile and tablet devices. The site also features an e-commerce shop.
Admat redesign for NYC concert to raise awareness for imprisoned Native American activist, Leonard Peltier. The event featured acts that included Pete Seeger, Jackson Browne, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter and more. Design was used to produce posters, print ads, banner ads, email graphics and flyers.
When CMJ reduced its email newsletter frequency from daily to weekly, the layout was redesigned and optimized for mobile devices.

Since 2001, CMJ has produced daily music news coverage, predating the likes of Pitchfork. The CMJ.com redesign was a part of an overall campaign to create a consistant brand and modernize the company’s look. The site was built from a custom WordPress theme and has strong CMS capabilities.

I designed collateral for the 2011 CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival, the largest and longest-running music industry event of its kind which features over 1,200 artists performing in over 80 NYC venues over the course of five days. Flyer /poster design for long running Brooklyn soul DJ party. Icons represent LPs and 45s, and alternating text recalls a turntable’s tonearm.

Film poster/dvd packaging for the independent documentary about Louisiana Swamp Pop singer, Joe Barry.

This album collects the complete recordings of this short lived ’80s R&B group. My first vinyl LP design project.
Selected work from my 2008 internship with Wax Poetics. Includes full-page Lyman Woodard print ad for their magazine, a belly band mock-up for Afro Samurai, and product photography for their apparel line.
